Established in 1987, Guildford Counselling is conveniently located in Guildford town centre. We practice from the historical building of the Guildford Institute, in a private and welcoming space. We offer both short term and open-ended counselling and will talk through the options with you.
At Guildford Counselling, every counsellor is highly trained, registered (BACK, UKCP, NCPS) and with decades of clinical experience. We offer a diverse range of evidence based therapeutic approaches that will be adapted to meet your individual needs.
At Guildford Counselling we offer individual, couples or family counselling on either short term or open-ended basis.
For more information about what modalities we use, please see individual counsellor's profile.
Your Guildford Counselling therapist will offer warm, empathic, and non-judgmental support. Together, we’ll explore ways to cultivate self‑compassion, strengthen relationships, make positive choices, and develop effective coping strategies.
If you’re interested in understanding the deeper roots of your difficulties, we can also work in a more psychotherapeutic way to explore how past experiences may be influencing your present wellbeing.
Each counsellor works with a broad range of issues including:
Depression, anxiety, stress and burn out, family relationships, addiction, isolation, loneliness, intimate relationship difficulties, sexual issues, pregnancy choices in a crisis, trauma and PTSD symptoms, bereavement and loss, life changes, eating disorders, gender dysphoria, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, adults dealing with childhood trauma and abuse, anger, work related issues and redundancy, adoption and fostering issues, chronic illness, pregnancy, ante and postnatal emotional health, victim support, coercive control, mood disorders
We are a short walk from Guildford town centre car parks, Guildford station, London Road station and the bus station.
